The Pastor’s Desk

Welcome to the website of the Woodland Christian Church!  I extend an invitation to you to come and worship with us on Sunday.  Come and experience the love, acceptance, joy, kindness, and grace of Woodland.  Most of all, come and experience Jesus at Woodland.  The Lord is transforming Woodland into a unique congregation that challenges people to become better persons who do greater deeds for God’s glory.  At Woodland, you’ll be encouraged and challenged to become more like Jesus.

Woodland is a congregation that promotes justice for all.  We insist that the ministry of Jesus is about justice for all, all the way to the cross.  The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus are about justice.  Salvation from sin is about justice.  Justice isn’t merely a topic of conversation for us.  We insist that the Lord wants everyone to live well.  For most of those who aren’t living the lives that the Lord wants them to live, it is because they are being treated unjustly and are denied opportunities to improve their lives.  Woodland stands up for them.

Because of our social media and live stream ministries, you can be a part of those ministries and learn some computer skills that you don’t have.  If you have the necessary computer skills, you’ll fit right in.  Woodland has room for a lot of people in our social media ministry.  We have room in our choir for you, room in our hospitality ministry for you.  If you can play an instrument or instruments, we have room for you in our music ministry.

As a congregation in transformation, we would like to train interested persons for leadership positions, leadership positions in the church and in the community.  We have a lot of leadership positions at Woodland.  Certainly, one of them is for you.

So, any Sunday, you are welcome to come and experience worship at Woodland.  After the worship service, we invite you to sit down with some of us over refreshments and learn more about what we’re doing at Woodland.  We are confident that Woodland is the church for you.
